In 2002, I, Dan Smith, a fourth generation descendent of Daniel and Catherine, along with my wife Tina, returned to the ancestral farm. For thirty years the land had called and we could no longer stay away.
If ever there was a labor of love, this was it: digging the post holes, stringing the wire, laying out the first 35 acres of Muscadine vines whose fruit would bronze under the Mediterranean-like sunshine.
We selected the finest cultivars – the Carlos, Noble, Doreen, Magnolia and Triumph – and these we raised by our own hand. We now offer you the result: the finest, the subtlest, the most satisfying expressions of the Muscadine, as well as Chardonnay and Syrah wines.
